Thank You from George's Wife
Dear NYCC Family,
Driving in the bike lane.
I know you hate poetry, but read this classic poem with George in mind.
George was not chronologically young in the sense A.E. Housman posits, but read this poem and think of George. It fits.
Today's outrage on the GWB.
2nd place goes to the putz who just had to ride into the oncoming lane of cyclists, who then had to stop for him; otherwise he would have been held up for, oh, say three seconds had he not gone around the walker.
But, no, the clear winner of First Place for Most Inconsiderate and Dangerous on the bridge today was the security guard--a heavyset woman--who thought the shade would most suit her so she positioned herself in one of the turns around one of the stanchions. Said I, coming up to her, "Good place to stand!" Said she, "I think so." Said I, "Oh, I know YOU do."

Anyone interested in riding in and around Kent, CT?
Everyone,
My wife have a small house in Kent, CT (about 80 miles north of Manhattan, depending upon your starting point) where we spend most of our weekends and the cycling is some of the best I've seen this close to NYC--generally smooth roads, little traffic and rather pretty rolling (and sometimes hilly) terrain. If anyone else in the NYCC spends time in the area, look me up! I'm hoping to find some "A" cyclists interested in weekend riding.
