Inadvertently winding up signed up on two rides
It happens a few times a month that a member will sign onto the wait list for a club ride. Then that person signs onto another ride, presumably his or her second choice just to be sure to be on a club ride that day. So now the member is signed onto one ride but still on the wait list for the first ride.
People drop off of ride one and the wait list shrinks. Our member now moves onto the ride one listing. But our system does not block that move nor does it remove the person from ride 2.
The reason we don't allow multiple signups the same day is to give more members a chance to get on a ride. The system sends an e-mail to the member warning him/her they are listed on 2 rides.
C-STS?
Will there be a C-STS this year?
Who will be leading?
Thanks!
What you JUST missed on "60 Minutes": cheating in the pro peloton.
"60 Minutes" just aired a story on mechanical cheating in the pro peloton. You know, those mini-motors put into the bottom brackets. The center of the story was an enginner in Budapest who developed the motors and was coy about whether or not they have been used in the pro peloton.
All this asserted as being within the Tour de France. On camera: Greg LeMond (who asserts the motors have been used in the Tour), Tyler Hamilton, and the notorioius Dr. Ferrari. Surprise: Lance declined to be interviewed for the story.

Please Support NE Queens Greenway Improvements (Kissena-Cunningham-Vanderbilt Motor Pkwy-Alley Pond-Cross Island Bike Paths)
Hello! My name is Barbara Gillespie. I am a new NYCC member, who lives in Bayside in northeast Queens. Some of you may be aware that NE Queens is blessed with a treasure trove of parks, which encompass 14.6 miles (or 37%) of the 40-mile Bklyn-Queens Greenway. This includes the 5-mile "Kissena-Cunningham Corridor" and a 9.6 mile path from Alley Pond Park to Fort Totten in Bayside.
London's Answer to Unsafe Drivers: Cops Posing as Cyclists
In my wildest dreams, I can't imagine NYPD ever doing this:

Anyone have any comment on this unit? Not interested in the 1000, so spare me any dialogue about it.
Remarks to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority on GWB
Chairman Prendergast. Board Members. Good morning.
In 2015, I came before you as President of New York Cycle Club, to ask for more group capacity on Metro North. Today I speak on behalf of 150 organizations, businesses and electeds calling on the Port Authority to widen the bicycle-pedestrian paths on the George Washington Bridge as part of the upcoming recabling (you each have hard copies detailing the effort).
I’m here to lay out three reasons the MTA should be concerned.

Subscribe to new rides alerts possibility?
Just wondering, would it be possible or outside the website's software capabilities, to build in an ability to subscribe to email alerts when new rides are posted, ie. based on criteria specified (eg. A, B, C and speed)?
