All night bike rides to cure depression?
Hear here: NYCCer Randy Cohen in conversation with sports writer Geo. Vecsey about cycling in the city. It's neat.
Randy is the creator of a lecture and podcast series, "Person, Place, Thing" in which he interviews an enormous range of highly accomplished people. His podcast with George Vecsey has just gone up. There's no time coding on it so scroll along it to c. 3/4 of the way to the end and hear it for yourself. http://personplacething.org/episode-161-george-vecsey/
This isn't a link. Just an illustration how far along in the interview is the discussion of biking in the city.

Recommendations for a Bike Fitting?
I've recently started riding a new bike and have been trying to put in some time trying to get the proper fit - though at the same time I am curious about doing a professional bike fit as I plan to put a lot of miles in this year.
Any recommendations? I did not purchase the bike from a local shop else I would do that. It seems most shops offer this service to some degree, and there are also specalists like acmebicycleco.com
NYCC Racing at Grant's Tomb Criterium - Tomorrow 3/11 from 8:50am to 5:35pm
The NYCC Racing team is scheduled to race in the Grant's Tomb Criterium tomorrow. Grant's Tomb Criterium marks the start of the road racing season in New York. It is of the most popular races of the year, with many out of town racers coming to NYC to compete. We would love to see some NYCC members out there either just as spectators or stopping by on the way to or from a ride.

GW Bridge Alert
On the New Jersey side of the GWB bike path, the sidewalk now has jersey barriers running down the middle, making the usable path very narrow - probably too narrow for cyclists going opposite directions to pass each other safely. There's room on the outside of the barriers for westbound cyclists to proceed safely (slowly), but only a narrow opening to get back through to the gate and out onto Hudson Terrace. Don't know if they will still be there over the weekend, but exercise caution.

There are many different ways to come to an end on a bicycle, this has to be one of the least expected ways to go.
