Bicycle commuting and air pollution...Study Participants wanted
Interesting article on a study being done at Columbia on the air we breath in NYC while bike commuting. It was written by a Richard Schiffman (any relation Hank?)
They are looking for participants to wear various monitors while commuting (click link in article to participate).

different route options for me and partner - looking for inspiration
Sadly, the two of us are rarely available for the NYCC organised rides... so need to explore on our own. I am really only familiar with:
- CP loops
- Over the GW, river road, 9w
- The trail up to brewster
Beyond these, what are other low traffic rides accessible from the city? We are happy to jump on a train from GC if needed.
If a map or gpx is available, that would be great!
Thanks all!

Road Repaving
A good section of the Grand Concourse has been milled - sorry I didn't note exactly from where to where, but probably from the mid 170s to the mid 180s. Don't know when it will be repaved.
The really good news, for those B & C riders who enjoy going to Scarsdale, is that most of Parkview has been repaved. There's a short section in Bronxville north of Pondfield that hasn't been redone, but the rest of the way up to Scarsdale Rd. is really sweet. It's been hideous for so long, it's a real treat to have it smooth.
Looking for someone to do loops around Central Park?
Hi:
I'm just getting back into riding. I'm 53. I'm looking for company on the weekends to do loops around Central park. I consider myself a "C" rider, but with hill issues.
I tend to like riding early in the day.
Thanks
-marc
The absolute best line about this year's Tour de France
"A Slovakian rider took down a British rider and then a Swiss organization suspended him from a French race. "
