Hi all,

I'm hoping that you might be able to recommend a rental place (maybe a cabin or some sort of vacation home) for my wife and I to rent for most of July (roughly the 1st - 26th). I'm an academic and am looking for a quiet place to write this summer. I'm also an avid cyclist and would love to explore some new areas. We need some place with internet, a nice kitchen, close to good cycling, a double bed (or larger), within 4 hours driving of the city, and not much else. It ought to be reasonably priced. Have you ever rented something like this? Any suggestions?

For those who ride north of Piermont via 9W, please be cautious. Jennifer interviewed residents of this section where the Haverstraw woman was struck. The road is NOT suppose to be travelled by trucks. The speed limit is far too fast, 60 mph. The residents have asked DOT/police to change the speed limit without results.

The speed limit along with the narrow shoulder make it too dangerous for cyclists.

Barbara Julich, one time NYCC Board Member is in a nursing home in Manhattan.  She has difficulty walking, suffers from mild dementia, and it would be nice if any of you who remember her will send her a card or note:
