Well, while we were being rained on for Day 2, sounds like there was a lot of "clothing optional" banter back here! All in all the trip was a success despite the downpour on the O-day (Omi day). We exerted a few extra carbon emissions zipping around in 2 vehicles seeing Hudson, Olana House and Omi regardless, basically making sunshine despite the rain. A couple of people smartly did the Omi loop on the Saturday when it was fine (with the help of gasoline).

As I mentioned, I'm a Millennial that loves my awards and have waited for 3ish months since the SIGs ended for my badge and it still hasn't arrived. 

Can anyone give me an update on how often this happens and when I can expect my e-awarding to happen.

Each month we recognize the contributions of one of our members with our coveted "Volunteeer of the Month" award.   Nominiees are sent to me at [email protected] and given over to our secret volunteer of the month committee. This secret committee consists of 1 'A' rider, 1 'B' rider, and 1 'C' rider- they inisist  on anonymity so that they won't be badgered by our crazy membership to select this member over that member over . . . . .  They're secret, hidden from view, totally on their own, 100% independent.  As a matter of fact, I am the only person on the planet who knows who the committee members are. Fuhgetabotit,  torture won't get it out  of me.

I'm trying to figure out the best bike route from East 71st  to Village--East or West. There are horrible patches of 2nd Avenue that I'd like to avoid, namely 59th Street Bridge and MT Tunnel entrance.

Or, should I just cut through CP and go down West Side?

At our most recent meeting, the Board discussed how to honor those who have been our members over the long haul. These members may or may not be Lifetime Members, but they have provided support to the Club for many years, and we feel that that deserves some sort of recognition. Unfortunately, the state of our membership records doesn't allow us to simply look this up.

To that end, if you have been (or know of someone who has been) a member for at least 25 years, please provide details to me at [email protected].  We're looking for 25 consecutive years, but small gaps of a few months and MAYBE even a year can be overlooked, so long as membership hasn't been an on-and-off thing. You get the idea.

Please bring a light rain jacket just in case.  And arm warmers.
