crash in the park
Crash in Central Park
Desperate to get just a little bit of riding in, as I approached the area by the boathouse
was irritated by what looked like another gang of tourists clustered in th middle lane.
Stopped to realized they’d stopped to help a down cyclist.
Turned out to be Hal Eskenazi - his shoulder was hurting but seemed ok
and cognitive. He did recognized me, then About 2:00 EMS arrived took
him and bike to ER at Presbyterian (70th & York). I figure club members will
want to check on him. He did call someone to alert them of the event
and to where he was going.
Cycling Partner(s) Wanted
Looking for a bicycling partner (or partners) to join me for a couple of informal weekday morning laps around Central Park, about C14, probably two or three times a week. Takes about an hour door-to-door. I can be flexible as to time.
It's a great way to start the day.
NOT an NYCC Club ride.
I ride year-round, except in heavy rain, when snow/ice is on the ground, or when the temperature is REALLY cold/windy, etc.
If interested, please contact me via the NYCC Membership Directory. Look forward to meeting you.
Merry Christmas to all!!!
Could there be a more glorious day for a ride, a party or simply a long-deserved holiday nap? Whatever you choose to do with it, ENJOY!
Merry Christmas to all of you!
Peter
caution on beach road(haverstraw) and 9w approaching bear mountain
both are flooded. if temperatures drop there will inevitabvly be some slippery ice conditions.

Anyone up for a county trailways rain ride on Friday, 12/21/18?
It's supposed to be rainy on Friday, but warm, with a fairly serious wind from the south, especially early.
I usually take a day off from work in the run-up to Christmas if the weather's good and go ride instead. Friday's weather qualifies in my book. Anyone want to come with? Reply on the message board here, or e-mail me directly and we can coordinate.
Where to donate used or new bike clothes
Are there any non-profit groups in NY that take bike clothes donations?
#Festive 500 Route Ideas
Okay, first off, I might not even try this. I could easily punk out just past Grant’s Tomb on mile 15, so don’t stalk my Strava.
That said, the idea is appealing as a nice challenge. But I’d need flatness. A great amount of flatness. So no 6 consecutive days of Nyack. No 9W (or very little). More like one Montauk Century (perhaps the NYC Century route) and a few other lengthy (walnut free) rides.
Any non-climbers try this before or have suggestions? Oh, and I don’t have Zwift or a strong interest in 310 miles of stationary activity. Great Outdoors and all that...
Seriously, I’m open to and appreciative of suggestions (and encouragement)!
Bike Hire for Escape NY 2019
Hi,
Apologies if this topic has already been raised.
Any advice on carbon road bike hire in Manhattan (Upper/Upper West Side) would be hugely appreciated.
A friend and i are planning to register for the ENY2019 and not travel to NYC with bikes.
Thanks in advance for any help.
