Weather looks iffy. If we don't get any snow, the ride is on.

Gimbels, Gimbels, Gimbels...
Saturday 8:45 am.
corner of 125th and Madison.
I listed this a couple of weeks ago and unfortunately i didn't have any takers. The ride was great fun and actually not too hard. Week to week you never really know how hard/easy the pace will be. Let's try this again. The weather looks to be cold, but seasonal and dry. Perfect winter conditions.

Christmas sale : FS Wheelbuilder wheelset with SL Powertap Excellent condition $1,100
A Powertap Shimano hub costs about $60. I have reduced the price by $100, so if you use a Shimano cassette (nothing wrong with that), you can get this Powertap. Since it's Christmas, I'll deliver it in the city, but I won't go down the chimney.

SATURDAY 12/18, B17+/50 SC#13 “Xmas in Richmond Town”
START: Whitehall Ferry Terminal in Manhattan
FINISH: St. George Ferry Terminal in Staten Island for the 4:30PM boat to Manhattan
LEADERS: Michael Notaro, Neile Weissman
WHAT: We start with a seven mile loop of the proposed SI 2012 Olympic race course! More "forgotten borough" mileage before stopping for breakfast at the Bennet Cafe in historic Richmond Town. Then a couple miles through a wooded preserve followed by long runs along Arthur Kill, Hylan, the Seaside bike path and shore roads back to the ferry.
TERRAIN: Quite hilly for first twenty miles, then flat. A couple miles hard pack after breakfast.
River Road: Once again for thousand and ten
Rear cassettes for boomers: 32 or 36?
Shimano and SRAM have new, larger 10-speed rear cassettes for baby-boomers.
My Trek road bike has 10-speed shifting and a compact double on the front. I'd like to upgrade to either a 32 or a 36 on the rear.
II understand that the 36-tooth gear is heavier and will require a larger rear derailleur, adding to both the expense and the weight. Are there any other issues, such as installation or maintenance problems?
Is there a dramatic difference between the 32 and the 36 in their climbing power?
Thanks for your ideas.
Cycling trainer/coach
I'm looking for a cycling-based personal trainer. Recommendations?
Police Questions
I was riding in Bedford Westchester last weekend with about 30 people. The entire group was pulled over by a local cop and he yelled at us for about a 1/2 hour.
He said that in the future if requested, we would need to produce identification and we could be held or arrested if we failed to produce it. I understand this to be true and this is not the question.
Lets say I produced a Passport rather than a Drivers License for identification which is perfectly fine. Here are the questions:
1. Does a cyclist need to carry a Drivers License in New York?
2. If we show a passport rather than a Drivers License can we still get a ticket?
3. I have been given a ticket with points on the bicycle, would it work the same way if I gave him a passport rather than a drivers license?
Foot pain..doctor recommendation?
I've been getting pain in my left foot after runs and rides and I'm not sure whether to see a podiatrist or a sports orthopedist. I get pain when I squeeze the sides of my foot, right below my toes. Recently, I've been limping so as not to put too much weight on the ball of my foot. Can anyone suggest a doctor? Thanks.
