Will there be a NYC Marathon ride this year?

Seeking route input for a train-assisted ride to a friend's place in Lakeville. My riding companion has been having a hard time on hills lately, so a goal is to minimize hills to the extent possible in this hilly area. Would the road conditions on this ride be OK? We ride touring bikes that manage OK on gravel.

(The obvious choice -- the rail trail via Millerton -- is the plan for the return trip. I'm looking for something different on the way there and am excited about going through a covered bridge and having food options in Kent, unless there is a strong reason to avoid.)

I spend more of my time in southern NJ nowadays, so I've tuned in to various cycling groups in the region. One of them is the Facebook feed for Bicycle Club of Philadelphia. I'm not a paid member, but get their posts. Eventually I may join. Which led me to wonder: What kind of social media presence/outreach does NYCC have for non-members? If someone in the region was curious about groups to ride with, would NYCC get on their radar?

...is the best way to get to the LIRR?

I've only used Penn for NJT bike routes so kind of a newbie with where to gather for LIRR trains?

Do you still go into the "old" Penn or is it better to use the new Moynihan facility?

I'm very sad to share that Champion Bikes on Amsterdam by 104th is shuttered. Marcos (sp?) did great work on my fleet, never complaining about old steel bikes or grit, and finding solutions where others failed. I was last there in late August for a new cog for my internal hub, which made my commuter bike smooth again. He said at the time that he was planning to take off for two weeks in late October. Not sure what happened in the interim, but the nearby bodega says there was a rent issue. I hope he is OK and that he will pop up to wrench somewhere else.
