So this plan is for tomorrow, as of this writing. :-) I'm happy to do the ride myself, but in case anyone else is interested, reach out! Departure from the Sailors' and Soldiers' Monument at the foot of West 89th Street.

The route will stay near the river more-or-less throughout: Bicycle Route 9 into Orange County, Storm King, etc., around West Point, then the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge to get a train back from Beacon.

The Absolute BEST way ever to beat a "Failure to Stop" cycling ticket.

Submitted by RRosenthal on Wed, 01/18/2012 - 11:42pm

A 16 year old friend of my nephew in the Los Angeles area received a $300 (!) ticket while cycling for failure to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. He challenges the ticket. Does he hire a lawyer? No, he does not.  Instead, he brings his fixie into the courtroom, does a trackstand for the judge, and the judge tosses the ticket.

Information Architect Needed

Submitted by dortsman on Wed, 01/18/2012 - 7:13pm

NYCC.org has made some great strides over the last year.  The efforts have been focused on keeping the site from crashing and getting the ride system right (among a few other things).  We've also focused on updating content about events and club goings-on.

It's time to we take a step back and really evaluate the site's information architecture - which leads me to my plea...

If you have professional experience as an Information Architect, we need you.  Please contact me if you're interested in tackling this project for the betterment of the NYCC community.

Thanks for reading!

Kosher Chinese Orange

The weather forecast for Sunday looks promising with a high of 43F. I revised the route to slightly longer, leaving a little earlier and with a lunch stop that's a regular sit-down resturaunt not a take-out place with counter "seating". Now the route will go through Montclair University, visit Kip's Castle and has more climbing.
