bike racks and congestion pricing

Submitted by Dflaherty55 on Wed, 01/08/2025 - 11:16am

I saw today that people with rear bike racks may be fined for evading congestion pricing. The issue of the plate be obscured has always been a possible violation but they are lumping bike racks in with plate aleteration and other clear means of avoiding tolls. FYI

Hello,

I am really looking forward to doing the SIG this year.  Does anyone have the dates available yet?  I ask because I am a teacher with spring break in late March and I don't want to miss a mandatory event and miss the whole thing.  Thank you!!!

The South County Trailway is snow covered

Submitted by CLam on Thu, 12/26/2024 - 11:08am

.

It is plowed and cleared of snow only within the VC park boundary. The rest heading north is snow covered and will likely remain so until the rain storm on Sunday. It is not deep, and quite lovely if you're there with the right tires. The OCA would likely be a good choice with those tires.

Submitted by Steve Vaccaro on Fri, 11/29/2024 - 11:42pm

"The incident sparked more than 200 protests across France, including one on Oct. 19 that gathered roughly 1,000 people in Paris. It has also spurred cyclists to talk about road rage they have experienced from drivers; some have even likened it to the #MeToo movement."

It sent a shock through Paris, a city striving to transform itself into one of the great cycling metropolises in the world: a bicycle rider, crushed under the wheels of an SUV in a bike lane just a few yards from La Madeleine, the landmark neoclassical church, in what prosecutors suspect was a deliberate act of road rage.

Good morning. It’s Tuesday. We’ll find out about new recommendations for the roads that loop through Central Park. We’ll also look at data showing that one in eight students in the city’s public school system was homeless last year.
