Tuesday 6am B16 Central Park laps canceled
I am sorry to do this again but it's just too cold for me so I'm canceling. Let's hope Thursday is better.

Babies on Bikes - seeking riders interested in a babies on board ride
Warm weather returns, but this year newfound responsibilities are keeping me away from the STS. Anyone out there interested in an organized group ride where we stop for diaper changes, playgrounds snacks and hopefully not mechanicals? I'm hoping to stay in shape pedaling a 45lb Ute... with a 21lb baby and likely another 15 lbs of support gear. Getting from Brooklyn to the Palisades might be challenge enough for Max's attention span but I'm going to give it a shot. Drop me a note if you're interested and if there is enough interest, I'll post a ride. Anyone who just loves babies and wants to be a buffer is welcome to load their bike with groceries and come out for the haul.
PS, sing along optional.
South County - North County to the Croton Reservoir.
Was clear enough last Saturday. I went around the park, so can’t comment on that section. Otherwise reasonably clean to the Croton. Ice patches in the areas of constant shadowing at some of the bridges and at the end of all the tunnels. One tunnel (Hwy 100?) was severe enough that I had to walk the last 15’ or so. Milwood has apparently used the trailway as a snow storage area with large mounds remaining, but it was easy to get around on the streets. The further North the more areas of snow/slush/ice encroachment but none severe enough to require getting off the bike. I’m guessing things might get iffy North of Yorktown Heights.
Incentive Gear
You have led rides, you have volunteered and you have earned incentive points. Now is the time to cash them in for NYCC ride leader gear.

Apparently CitiBike isn't doing all that well

Despite its popularity with city dwellers, New York City’s bike-share program is losing money, the Wall Street Journal reports today:

Cars spilling over into cyclists lane on Central Park Drive & 90 Street
Deputy Inspector Jessica Corey, Commanding Officer, Central Park Precinct, reported to me on the problem of cars spilling over into the cyclists lane on the East Park Drive just south of Engineer's Gate at East 90 Street.
The problem turned out to be a set of mis-timed traffic lights.
Normally, a motorist is supposed to get two "greens" in succession. One to go head north on Park Drive ...

... and a second when exiting the Park to proceed east on 90th Street or south onto 5th Avenue.
