any idea who holds the record?

Hi:

I would be interested to know if there is anyone who would like to do a shorter C ride on Saturday or go to the Quarry and seeig West Point instead of doing the longer ride.

Thank you.

Bikes Allowed on MNRR July 4th Inbound to GC?

Submitted by Lucia on Mon, 06/30/2014 - 11:20am

Does anyone know (or know who I can contact) regarding whether bikes are permitted on inbound to GC Hudson Line trains on Friday, July 4th?  I know there are some restrictions with regard to outbound trains for the Holiday Weekend.

Thanks!

Good alternative to riding Piermont Avenue from Piermont to Nyack

Submitted by mgeller1 on Sun, 06/29/2014 - 6:35pm

Taking Piermont road has become very crowded with bikes and cars sometimes competing for lane space, has some rough patches and police issue. While it means more climbing, the alternate path I've been using has the advantages of fewer bikes and a much greener surrounding.  I've been bypassing Nyack and Upper Grandview by veering off 9W to 340/Kings Highway to Clausland, Bradley, then down Mainstreet to toward Runsible spoon to South Mountain Road and after completing a loop around Rockland Lake, returning via Lake Road to Strawtown Road, to Western Highway and rejoining 9W via Kings Highway.

Submitted by nmnyc on Sun, 06/29/2014 - 5:07pm

My friend had a one bike accident on 9W in Alpine aournd 10am yesterday morning. Someone called an ambulance but he does not have any information about the fall. If anyone saw the accident or heard about it please let me know as he would like to know what happened. He was riding and the next thing he knew he was in an ambulance. He has a lot of road rash and a small fracture but should be ok soon. Thanks, Nancy [email protected]

New bike shop in Fort Lee

Submitted by velofellow on Sun, 06/29/2014 - 12:47pm

Appropiriately named "Fort Lee Bicycle Shop".  It's at 2000 Bigler St., which is a tiny street sandwiched in between Central Road (Santorini Restaurant) and Hudson Terrace.  They're brand new, so they don't have much stock yet.  As of now, they carry Jamis bikes and had some kiddy bikes and "recreational" bikes on display.  Maybe they're trying to become the "anti-Strictly Bicycles".  The couple of guys working there seemed nice.
