Randall's Island Long Shot
Looking to cut through on my way to the Bronx today. Wondered if anyone knows if the foot bridge and pathways are clear? Thanks!
I've pleaded with you over and over to read Streetsblog.org. Here's a really neat piece about its founder
Streetsblog.org is imperative reading for those who bike in the city. This has just about nothing to do with it or with cycling--but its subject is the founder of it and there's a good bit of political whimsy in this:

Great ride today
Got my 40 mile ride in today before 7am. Just north of the City roads were clear and dry with temps in the low teens and not much wind chill. Excellent conditions. Sunday am prior to 8am looks great also with temps closer to 30 degrees.
Civilized Pearl River CXLD
It's 28 degrees as I write this. We can't catch a break. It's just too cold and not expected to get better till late afternoon.
Saturday morning quick ride to Piermont canceled
Sorry for the late call, but some of the roads may be icy tomorrow. Better safe than sorry. Stay warm.
Downhill fun

B14 and B16 SIG Preview Rides canceled
Hi all.
We’re so sorry but we are canceling the ride this weekend. We are concerned about the safety of the roads due to possible ice, slush, and snow.
Unfortunately, we are not able to do it later this month due to scheduling issues.
But, if you have questions about the B SIG, please try to come to the NYCC meeting this Tuesday, Feb. 10, which will be all about the SIG’s. There will be leaders from all the different SIG’s who will make presentations and can answer your questions.
Here’s hoping you join a SIG this Spring. They are all wonderful. Great fun, great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends, and good exercise to boot!!!

R-STS
R-STS is a ten (10) ride series for NYCC B-Riders that will run Saturdays March 7 through May 9.
Intended for SIG graduates and comparably experienced cyclists, the R-STS seeks to expand riders' horizons beyond the Piermont-Nyack corridor. The program will feature two events hosted by Long Island Randonneurs: the Jones Beach 100K on 3/28 and the Ronkonkoma 200K on 5/9.
