Scarsdale lunch options?

Submitted by shimasaki on Sun, 10/27/2019 - 12:09pm

Help! Planning a mid-November ride with Ness and we need your RECENT info about group-friendly lunch options.  Can it be true that Lange's deli is no more? Anything else close to that location? Diners? Delis with seating? Recommendations welcome!

Ride listings

Submitted by JBrizel on Thu, 10/24/2019 - 10:01pm

I love the new format of the ride listings!  It's great to show the distance and the leaders in the e-mail. It saves time looking up the mileage and makes it easier to chose among rides.

thanks for making the change!

hydraulic Disc Brakes

Submitted by David Regen on Wed, 10/23/2019 - 9:17am

I'm fixing to buy a new bike for the first time in 10 years. One of the biggest changes is that disc brakes are nearly universal on most new bikes. Setting aside the obvious advantages, I've personally performed about 95% of my bicycle setup/maintenance on my various bikes (including rim replacement, wheel building, bottom bracket installation, etc.) so I went to the Shimano website to look at some manuals to see what I'm in for. The consumer manual for the Ultregra hydraulic disc brake had absolutely new information about installation. The "dealer" manual explained a lengthy, sophisticated process that looks like a version of setting up miniature motorcycle brakes--more complex than the rest of the bike components combined (assuming mechanical shifting is used).

Similar club to NYCC for trail running?

Submitted by ONekrasova on Tue, 10/22/2019 - 5:26pm

Hi, NYCC is a fantastic organization. Are there any equivalent clubs in other sports, like trail running, or others? Or is it truely one of a kind?

Thank you for any leads!
