Bike case for the taking
I have a Bike Pro USA bicycle case to give away. It has seen plenty of use hauling bicycles over to Europe and back and still has more life left in it. Come and get it! For a look at what the Bike Pro USA looks like click here. It basically locks the frame to the base and then surrounds the bicycle in a soft case. Very easy to use and reliable.

Website Update - June 2011
To The Membership...
Last night, the 2011 web team released our first major update to the site. The bulk of this update dealt with 'behind-the-scenes' issues. However, we have a couple of user facing items.
- Reduced homepage flutter
- FireFox navigation wrapping issue resolved
- Ability for riders to withdraw from rides
- More (and better) error messaging
- In general, better site performace
Rockland Bagels Tor
I know that there are many folks off to the West Point weekend but I'm not.
Join me for a nice ride in Rockland (and Bergen) with lots of hills and tree-lined streets. Rockland Bagels Tor will include some nice roads in Rockland county as well as climbing Little Tor from the north and lunch at Bubbas Bagels in Wesley Hills. Route plans are in my blog

How to watch the Tour?
The Tour and the NY Marathon are the only sports events in which I have any interest. But I no longer have a TV or cable, and can't figure out how to access the streaming videos, if there are any.
I see that Versus is charging $30. Too pricey for the unemployed. I am also not a fan of American-style commentary.
I like the French TV coverage (one half of each stage almost uninterrupted, front, back and center of peloton). Tourisme, langage, un peu de sport.
Any suggestions?

Cyclist critical after car plows into him, throws him in the air
A 53-year-old bicyclist was hit and flung into the air by a luxury sedan as he was riding along a Chinatown street, witnesses said.
The man was crossing Canal street on his gray mountain bike towards Broadway when he was hit by the Jaguar as it was driving east on Canal, witnesses said.
The impact sent the man crashing over the car, landing on the pavement in a pool of his own blood, according to people at the scene.
"It was very sudden and unexpected," said Mohd, a 15-year-old teen from Queens. "He was unconscious, not moving," he added.
Don't tell me I don't have the interest of all you men and women at heart
Old Croton Railway State Park - condition?
Google Maps is flogging the Old Croton Railway State Park as a north-south bike route along the river, starting around Yonkers and running up through Westchester. One website says it's unpaved. Is it usable by road bikes? Is it in good enough condition for 28mm tires or wider? Thanks.
