For Sale: (2) Hediger 72-speed Trimuter Recumbent Trikes
(2) Hediger 72-speed Trimuter recumbent trikes @$1000/ea; 1/3 their $2995/ea list.
These USA-built versions of Greenspeed GTRs include adjustable-length leg bars, fenders, rear racks, twin water bottle cages, 8x3 cassette/cranks, Dura Ace bar end shifters, SRAM 3 speed rear hubs, and extra seat backs. Well maintained by club ride leaders, and recently serviced by Master Bike, they take too much space in our coop's bike storage area. So, we're buying new folding tadpoles as replacements. Still, we need space for the replacements... hence our 2/3-off offer. Identical his 'n hers, other than color; one orange, one yellow. Photo has fenders removed; easier to get in/out of storage area.
No more Tuesday Night Training ride in Central Park
All,
I'm sorry to have to tell our regular riders that we are no longer allowed to run the Tuesday night training ride in Central Park. The Board has advised us that "It's okay to ride laps on your own but the NYCC can't have it be a club sanctioned organized ride for safety reasons".
Given I've been running these rides throughout all of last summer and so far this summer without incident, I disagree that there is any safety concern but we will abide by the rules and cancel the rides going forward.
Thanks to everyone who graced us with their presence on these rides either this year or througout last season.

Piermont
Hi All,
Before the drinking and the BBQ'ing commence in earnestness tomorrow, I'm going to take a quick trip up to Piermont. Nothing fancy. Heading from Brooklyn, up the WSH to the GWB, Riverroad to 9W, break at Bunberry's and then 9W back. Hoping to make the roundtrip in a bit over 4 hours from Park Slope and need to be back by 2. I'm flexible on departure time, but thinking 8 or 9 from Brooklyn.
If you have any interest in joining, glad to meet up anywhere on the west side.
Matt

Cold Spring via Little Tor, Perkins and Storm King - the ride is ON
We have a full ride ... an awesome group ... the weather forecast is looking great ... and our ride is ON.
We will be departing at 7 am from 72nd Street / Riverside Drive. We have a challenging but beautiful route planned that will take us through the many hills of Harriman State Park before we head up further north towards Storm King. We will take Metro North back to the city from either Beacon or Cold Spring depending on how we are doing timing-wise but not before enjoying an ice-cold beverage!

Riverside Drive-COP CAUTION
It looks like the NY City police are more concerned with us going thru red lites on Riverside Drive;
than they are with cars blowing thru red lights in midtown; or hitting pedestrians or cyclists!
On Thursday AM a small group of cyclist were stopped and WARNED(but not ticketed) on Riverside near Columbia. The officer expressed "this is a warning BUT we are going to start"...
grrrr

SEAT POST, Besides tube diameter, how does one choose?
Looking to "perhaps" swap out my seat post for something a bit lighter on my 1980 Bianchi.
I understand that the Post diamter must fit the seat tube, but with so many to choose from how can I make an educated decision besides cost? There seems to be so many angle or off set options etc
Robert
