Does anyone know if there will be any organized rides for the century or is everyone on their own? I am a B17 rider looking for others to do the century with. Escape New York Century

Thank you Pat Mullen for an incredibly beautiful and well run ride yesterday. I highly recommend this very well thought out island hopping journey.  Try it, at least once.

BRADLEY & TWEED

Submitted by JJacobson on Mon, 09/05/2011 - 1:37pm

Rockland County's Highway Department periodically spreads loose small stones on the roads up there.  They claim that this extends the road life.  However this year the dissipation of the small stones has been slower than usual since their spreading about three weeks ago.  They still cover the roadway in many places, especially at the intersection of Tweed and Bradley (CR's 5 & 38).  This can be treacherous for cycling, especially on hilly stretches. I hope the stones are gone by the time of my next weekend LoHud ride in early October so we can use those roads.

Golden Apple

I rode in the Westchester Cycle Golden Apple on Sunday and had a great ride- the route was beautiful and well marked and there was a marshal everywhere there needed to be. Lots of challenging hills- and homemade ice cream at the end!
