Die Hards Week 2: squeezing out the last drops of Autumn sun and color.
Weather.com says 38 degrees and super sunny at 9am tomorrow--it'll be a beautiful day but it is time to break out some, if not all, of the winter gear.
To take advantage of what Fall color is left, we've built a cue that starts with Alpine, then rolls along the Clark Rail Trail to Bradley for a little more climbing in the trees, then spin down into Nyack for a muffin, espresso, or egg sammy. Then we'll peel a layer and lay down a nice brisk run home in the sun on Stateline/9W (perhaps breaking into 2 squads based on relative speeds of the group.)
If you're signed up and want the cue sheet, email me.
See you tomorrow!

Anybody know how River Road is at this time?

An REI Mountainbike Giveaway
Hey fellow NYCCers, just giving you the heads up on a contest I'm running at the bicycles site on Stack Exchange.
Ask a good bike question or leave a good bike answer to win a chance at $1,000 in bike goods at REI. (Maybe the new REI in SoHo?)
It'd be awesome if one of you won!

Wednesday Rally for traffic justice 11/30
Thanks to Carol, Richard, Rod, Peter, Rob and all our members who showed up at Police Plaza yesterday to lobby for traffic justice alongside Transportation Alternatives.
Erika Lefevre, mother of Mathieu Lefevre, killed in a hit and run while riding his bike in Brooklyn on October 18, spoke of her son's death and the shocking absence of help from the NYPD in obtaining information, not to mention charges against the driver of the truck that killed him and left the scene.
No hit and run charges were filed, nor even a charge of failure to exercise due care.
