Sept. 28 Rockland Lake via Western Highway, B-16
When the date of this ride was changed to September 28, all the signups were transferred to the new date. Therefore, I have written to all riders on the main list and the waiting list and asked them to reconfirm.
Please withdraw from the ride if you're no longer interested. Please respond to the email I sent you, or click the email icon on the left, to let me know if you are still interested.
Anyone who hasn't reconfirmed by Wednesday, Sept. 11 will be deleted. Apologies in advance for any inconvenience.
General note, in view of all this extra correspondence, it now appears to me that it's a bad idea to transfer over an entire ride list when the date of a ride is changed. Comments?

I rode the Medio today -- what a beautiful ride and day. The route was shady, quiet, and well marked. Rest stops were well spaced and well staffed. There were even cheerleaders at the first one and there was plenty of food. Spirits seemed high among riders of all abilities. There was even a sponsored bike wash-and-lube at the end, if you were willing to wait for it.
Only down side for me was the need for a car to get there, because of the early start. But I was glad to be done early too, so there's that. I am publicly thanking the organizers for reaching out to NYCC and running a great ride.
A first for me today

I hear he can also ride fast.
Strawtown - chewed up, piles of gravel, and scary!
Strawtown Rd is a scary mess right now! The road surface is chewed up (presumably to prep for repaving), and there are PILES of gravel all along the edge of the road. We had about a foot and a half of "rideable" space - if any pothole or swerving car had pushed us off that line, we would have gone down. I'm a dirt road, cyclocross, gravel rider, I don't say this lightly. The funky turn-to-stay-on-Strawtown was especially bad, with gravel across the whole intersection, sometimes over an inch deep.
The bad conditions started just north of the intersection with Germonds/Old Mill Rd and continued approximately three miles to just south of Congers Rd.
Cyclist Accident on 9 today?
Does anyone have any further information about the cyclist related accident on southbound 9 today, about halfway from alpine and home, at about 1230-1pm? Traffic was stopped in both directions, four ambulences, a few police and a shouldered Audi. Seemed to be some sort of organized ride with the amount of cyclists that were pulled off to the side of the road. Looked like a mess.
I hope injuries aren't too severe. Be safe y'all.
