On Saturday September 20^th join the New York Cycle Club for its biggest ride of the year -  the 20^th Annual Escape New York.  

This fall classic offers four scenic, well marked routes  -   25, 50, 65 or 100 miles – all beginning and ending at Sakura Park in Manhattan.   All offer picture-postcard views of the Hudson River and Palisades as you cross the George Washington Bridge and ride the serene roads of Bergen and Rockland Counties. 

Due to rain the ride is cancaled 

Observations and Comments from Interbike, 2014

(None of which Rise to the Level of Truly Interesting, Important, or Informative)

Conspicuous by their absence on the floor of the Mandalay Bay Convention Hall: Shimano, (which, instead, had tech sessions upstairs), Speciaized (which, instead, flew its dealers to Monterey several week ago), Mavic, and I’ll put Campagnolo here because, although they had a presence, it was greatly reduced from previous years and quite boring.

Join us! For the 6th year in a row the Lucarelli/Nyvelocity team will be leading an "A" ride for Escape New York. All strong NYCC riders are welcome; not just those that are interested in racing next year. We will meet at around 6:45 AM at Sakura park and congregate right outside on the fence just south of the entrance, at 7:15 we ride. The pace will be steady and we will try to keep everyone together. It may get a bit more selective on the longer climbs, but we always regroup at the top. We’ll stop for all mechanicals, etc. 

We want to participate in this ride but need to know where we can rent bikes.  We'll be in town for the weekend visiting from Colorado.  Any help would be appreciated.

At 2pm today the southbound lane from Strictly to the bridge was being milled. At the time you couldn't ride it even if you wanted to as the crews were working. We ended up riding/walking the sidewalk but if we'd known we would've stayed on 9W.

Where can you legally park a car on the New Jersey side of the GW Bridge?
