Dumpling Ride 1/31/15 canceled

Submitted by LWintner on Fri, 01/30/2015 - 12:33pm

So, call us wimps but a wind chill of -5 with gusts of up to 38-39MPH is just too brutal.  So, we're canceling.  Maybe we'll have a gentler winter next year....

NYC ID Cards anyone ??

Submitted by Sir Roger on Wed, 01/28/2015 - 11:43pm

So what happens if you leave your drivers license at home and carry a new NYC ID instead. How do the boys in blue write a moving violation ticket. How does NYC attach points to your license if you are showing the legal NYC ID instead.

Cyclists are not required to carry a drivers license. The City ID is legal so if you are the person who likes to tempt the lights on Riverside would carrying the City ID limit the anguish connected with points and insurance increase etc when you do get caught.

I am certainly no defender or supporter of LA. And in general couldn't care less about the machinations of the guy

But I found ths interview really interesting.

Why I switched to wide tires...

Like most, I rode 23 mm tires forever, switched up to 25 mm couple of years ago, now have another bike with 650B  x 42mm (recommended pressure 55-75 psi). Fast, light and incredibly comfortable - especially on the kind of pavement we typically ride around here. Highly recommended!
