Is the GW south side open during the week?

Was mapping out a ride, and it required two miles of 17a near harriman. I'm not familar with this road, but the ridewithgps photos looked busy with cars. How is cycling on 17A? 

I am grateful to all the leaders and riders who helped make this past weekend diverse in the choice of rides.  Seemed like I heard very few complaints!  

I'll leave it at that as I wouldn't want to be accused of being sentimental.  Hopefully some of you will sign up for July 4th as well, so I can again share your wonderful energy.

Last week's Great Big Story wasn't ISIS or Syria. It wasn't the California Drought. It was Dave Letterman's retirement. Did you know--no, of course you didn't--one of our "A" riders was a writer for Letterman for many years?

I need to replace my commuter bike. Giant has some really cheap aluminum frames, but I'm thinking about going with steel, even if it's more money. My last steel bike took twenty years of riding abuse and being locked to sign posts. I worry about the long term durability of aluminum, as well as the attractiveness of it locked up. I only have a couple of years experience with aluminum.
