Be a Tour de Bronx marshal & get free tickets to NY Botanical Garden, Bronx Zoo, and Wave Hill
New York's largest free cycling event rolls on Sunday, October 27, 2019. Marshals are needed to help cyclists with mechanical problems, point out directions, and sometimes just give encouragement to riders to finish the 25- or 40-mile route.
Garmin stolen off bike on NJT
Watch bikes carefully when riding trains to and from ride start/end destinations. On NJT especially, many of us bungie our bikes in downstairs bike section and sit upstairs & pay no attention until we get off. It is too easy for opportunists passing through cars to help themselves to accessories or even grab the top bike and get off at the next station
Celebrating the diversity our our membership
Our membership base is amazing. On any given day, on any given ride, you can be riding next to a Wall Street Whiz, a High Powered Attorney, a Super Mother, a Window Washer, an Architect, an Artist, a Musician, a Bum, a Doctor, an Old Person, a College Student, name it – they are our membership. And when we are on a ride, riding next to one another, we are one in the same, cyclists, friends, members of the New York Cycle Club. How rich is that?!

Time to Create a New Ride "Level?"
With the ever increasing interest and amount of listed gravel rides, perhaps it's time to start exploring the addition of a new ride "level" to differentiate a dirt/gravel ride from an "A" road ride in the ride listing page?
Maybe it's called level "D," or maybe it's called level "G," so there's no room for confusion if new users think a "D" ride is slower paced than a "C" ride.
Thoughts?
Misconception in assuming that a "Bike Train" is a "Group Bike Train"
Ride leaders look at Metro North timetables, seeing a bike icon at the top of a column, might make the assumption that a designated Bike Train is fine for reserving passage for their rides. This is not a given.
Outbound on the Hudson Line, Bike Trains are okay for us to reserve. But inbound on the same line there is a discrepancy.
The inbound Hudson Line Bike Trains are: 8844, 8848, 8852, 8856 & 8860.
On Saturdays both 8844 and 8852 are unreservable by NYCC for our group rides.
On Sundays 8852, 8856 and 8860 are likewise unreservable; these are not Group Bike Trains.
Other trains on both days are also unreservable. [to list them here would only make things more confusing]

Terrific ENY!
Thanks to all the volunteers who made ENY a great experience. And special thanks to whomever had the ear of the weather gods! A perfect day.
NYC Escape jersey exchange - I have a size M
I got my brand new jersey for the NYC Escape, from the Rapha store collection point, but it is too small for me.
I got a size M, and need a size L. Is there someone in similar ciscunstances, with a size L that may want a size M?
Thanks!
ENY Escorted Ride B-18 100 mile cancelled???
Good morning,
This ride has disappeared from the ride listings -- Was it cancelled? There were a lot of people signed up and on the waitlist. Rather disappointing.
