Hello All
I just joined the NYCC. I know its already the off season so to speak, but I was wondering if there was anybody interested in going for weekday rides in Brooklyn.

Here's the curveball: Typically I ride in Prospect Park on weekdays, starting anytime from 9AM to 3PM (I begin work at 5PM).
I know that isnt the most popular time for most folks, but thats just how my schedule works.
If that hasnt thrown you yet, read on...

I'm hoping to start riding in groups come springtime, or as soon as I'm back up for riding A/B 50+ at a decent pace. I'm coming off a knee injury and haven't been doing much extended riding, but I hope to change that ASAP and get back to my old routine (and maybe some new ones).
If there is anyone reading this who likes to ride in Prospect Park I am currently holding at +/- 25 miles at 16-18 mph in the Park. I should be back to 50 in a month or so, depending on the weather and how much rain we get. So if there is anyone out there who thinks I could be good company for weekday loops, please contact me!

Alternatively, if you know of any weekday rides that could be a good fit for me, let me know about that as well. All advice is welcome!

Thanks
Marc

Sorry for your loss

Sorry about the loss of your bike.

Prospect Park training was discussed at length a few weeks ago. You can search the board, or if this doesn't work (which we've heard might be the case), I'd hope the Webmaster would advise you on how to search the board.

shore road loops

hey marc! i live in red hook and am also trying to get back in shape for the spring in time for the B sig. I know you like propect park, i don't mind it so much for shorter rides, but . if i may suggest we could get together for a ride out to shore road for a few loops and back via either 4th or 3rd ave to Bay ridge ave, down to the pier and stir vigorously. the loops are a combo of rollers and of course the flat shore road bike path. the way out and back has the traffic aspect but, handled with care can be fun(kind of) but once we are on the shore road...it is really nice...each loop is 4.29 mi. from my place doing 5 loops = 35.41 miles

i usually take off at @ 11am. every other day hope to hear from you...

That sounds very good.
At the moment I'm in between bikes
My 2010 GT CXi was stolen Sat night. On the bright side, prob getting back 500 dollars from my credit card company. Im going to use that and get a new Specialized Allez tomorrow or soon to hold me over until I can save enough to get a real nice new bike similar to the CXi.
So Ill let you know next week hopefully. I hope I can keep up on that Allez. Sigh. The CXi was a ridiculous bike. So cheap considering the components that came standard. Sigh again.
