Best I can tell from the NYC Cycle map, I can cross the 3rd Ave bridge, travel up 3rd ave to East Treemont Ave and then right into Silver Beach. Is this a safe route? I don't know much about the bronx. Is this a smart route? I'm no stranger to Bklyn, but the bronx is an unknown.

Any suggestions?
