It's all been said enough that the site is user un-friendly, hard to read, badly spaced, nesting sadly missing in threads, and slow (Jim, did you really say yesterday that it may take more money to resolve the problem of slowness?  Shouldn't basic functionality be part of what we paid for already?)  No need to add to that. However, yesterday, cumbersome though it may have been, I was able to access most posts.  Today, many threads won't open at all - I get an error message, and more frustratingly,  new posts within the threads seem to have only a # and no content.  I have been unable to access any of these.  Any idea what's going on?

Are we able to post photos

Are we able to post photos within a message like we could with our old beloved message board?

posting pictures

If I enable rich-text I can "Preview" the picture, but then when I "Save" it (post it to the message board) the picture is no longer visible.

There's a picture embedded in this post, can anybody see it?

Nope

No picture bro. I tried to add one to the ride I just listed and it was rejected even though it was well under the 2 MB limit.

Go look at photography-on-the.net (aka POTN) with over 100,000 members.

Evan, that's an excellent

Evan, that's an excellent example. At this very moment there are 2596 members logged on to that forum. That's about 2.5% of their total membership. It's as bullet proof as you can get. Not bad for a turn-key solution that costs, what, about 5% of what the NYCC Paid for this site? Probably less considering the NYCC may be charged even more for the aesthetic tweaks members are asking for. NYCC Oldtimer

Money Pit

If the message board were running on vBulletin, the changes would have been made already.

At no cost.

It sounds like this site is going to be a Money Pit for the New York Cycle Club.

"Hey Oldtimer, do you have stock in vBulletin?"

Tom, I don't. I wish I did. Based on the sheer number of message forums on the internet that run on vBulletin, they must be doing well. Do you see a problem with proposing vBulletin? I see you've recommended phpBB which would take more work to get in place. vBulletin is very much a turn-key solution, which I think is the point many of us are trying to make. Do you agree?

I'm just joshin' with ya',

I'm just joshin' with ya', OT. I really don't know that much about vBulletin.

I do know phpBB is free and I used it to set up a forum for my Co-op that took very little work (and I'm a recovering musician, not an IT person). If vBulletin would take less work, I'm all for it. Whatever works.
