Congrats I love the new look.
New website looks great!!!!
First things first.:
The site looks nice. Now some suggestions.a) Can we get the lettering in the message boards to be White & Bolder with a larger point size. It appears to me to be more like a light blue lettering against a dark blue background which effects the contrast for tired eyes.
b) If I want to use a different USER NAME, do I create a New account or can I change it in
MY ACCOUNT
Good Job
Good Luck

Actually, you could create a guest account for MB posts right now. You would only need a valid email address. We are looking at the policy regarding creating user names for people....you can't create your own. As to the colors, they are part of the theme and font colors are different for different parts of the site. As to changing them, there are a few strategies for changing them on heavily used areas such as the Bulletin Board and perhaps the MB. This is being worked on. Some of the basic text of the site such as learning about the club people will only read once.
I ithought WE COULD create a custom USER name if we logged in with a valid email address.
I would love to be Anon1000 (kidding), this is silly not to permit it.
Did anyone have a problem with White background, black type and whatever contrast 3rd color.
Come on, I can't even see what I'm typing without getting blind..
I know you guys are trying, but WHY DID WE NOT simply use a tried and proven sytem for the Board?
I agree with Rob. I'm much younger than him and I also find the light blue text on blue background strains the eyes. Actually, even the light blue on white background when composing a post is annoying.
Why do so many message boards insist on some color scheme that makes the boards harder to read? Black text on white background is a proven winner. Who cares about fancy color schemes on a message board?? Are we T-Nation? Use the color schemes elsewhere on the site, or on the borders of the message board.
You guys must need new monitors, the dark blue on light blue is easily readible for me though I have a 20" hd monitor.
As for the comment about where to place the posts, forums always place new posts on the bottom however I feel like on this one, sometimes I'm seeing new posts up top and sometimes on the bottom, the whole thing is confusing. This is easily the worst forum software I've every used
Well done, Derek and team! The site looks great and is a huge improvement over the previous. I like the ride RSVP feature - and I like that you have to log in for the message board.
please tell me this is temporary, it is running incredibly slowly
EDIT, I couldn't post using rich text editor on Internet Explorer running Windows 7, I was however able to post it from Google Chrome. Figured webmaster may want to know that info for working out the bugs
Love the new look. Thanks for all the hard work!
Izzy
Is there a default which is causing the posts on this message board to appear at the bottom of each post? Logically, posts should default to the top of the screen so we don't have to scroll down each time to view them.
I noticed this yesterday. FIREFOX. In IE (7, anyway), the posts are on the top. Sounds like the programmers wrote the code to IE8 and did no testing of other browsers. This goes back to fundamentals of the web environment: whatever web pages you create, make sure they work reasonably well in at the least the two most used browsers. Oh well, another one....
Anonymous j*rk (j*rk because he/she's anonymous about such a trivial matter) said this: "I noticed this yesterday. FIREFOX. In IE (7, anyway), the posts are on the top. Sounds like the programmers wrote the code to IE8 and did no testing of other browsers."
On the contrary, for me, there is a large blank space at the top of each post in both Firefox and IE.
BTW, thanks for improving the message board input. Works much better and user-friendly. (But I still don't know what "rich text" is or whether it is a good or bad idea to "enable" it.)
