"Jon, I did the B-SIG 5 years ago on a hybrid by Specialized that I now use as a commuter bike. I paid more than $300 for it, but I was also looking for something ""high-end"" as far as hybrids go. Specialized makes bikes that span a wide range of prices, and they definitely sell hybrids at prices lower than what I paid for my bike. Anyway, I've had a fantastic and very low-maintenance time with this bike. You can peruse the bikes and suggested retail prices at specialized.com. Hope this helps."
