I am thinking about using the services of a psychologist who is also an athlete. I have no idea where to find a therapist with this type of background. I wonder if anyone knows of someone who fits this description. thanks

"I'm not sure I qualify as an ""athlete"", but I do love to ride my bike, and I am a psychologist. In any case, I don't know anyone offhand, but could probably help you find someone if we talk and I hear more about what you have in mind. Feel free to e-mail me at the above and we'll take the discussion to a more private realm."

Aside from Deb, there is another female cyclist who is a psychologist of whom I know. Would be happy to link you up if you'd like. Just email to me via this link.

I also have a friend who is a female psychologist / psychoanalyst and a biker / athlete. Feel free to email at the above for a referral.

"If you are interested in having a professional referral, get in touch with Kenwood Psychological Services. For a modest fee, you will have an intake interview where you can discuss the issues you need to deal with, what qualities you are looking for in a therapist, and insurance/fee issues. You will then be referred to a psychologist or psychiatrist. If that person doesn't work out, you can ask for another name, and ""shop around"" until you find someone you like. I used this service, and it was amazing. Much better than thumbing through the phone book or asking a friend. Good luck!
