From Joe Wiener of the Prospect Park Peloton:
On Friday, from about 11:00 to 11:50 a.m. there will be a large procession on the Brooklyn Bridge. This is an annual event. It starts in Brooklyn and ends near Ground Zero. There are usually between 1,000 and 2,000 people on the walkway. While we try to keep everyone confined to one side, it isn't always possible. For public safety reasons, the cops (and we) ask cyclists to walk their bikes as they pass.
If you are planning on heading over the bridge during that time, you may want to alter your plan (e.g. take the Manhattan Bridge, leave earlier, later, etc.) to avoid a possible delay. If you do find yourself on the bridge, please try to be understanding and courteous.
Also, spread the word to other cyclists.
Thanks,
Joe
