I seem to recall a couple of guys planning a trip up; still doing it? I'd like to do it early/mid-May.

Yes. I'd started the earlier thread. We will be riding to Geneva, NY likely passing through Ithaca. Tentativly planning on leaving NYC Thursday May 10th and arriving in Geneva Sunday May 13th. Still working on route but will probably do 80-100 miles per day probably around a b17 pace. If anyone is interested in joining reply to me by e-mail.

I did it May 31-June 2 several years ago
from Orangeburg NY(southern Rockland County) to Ithaca in 2 days (235 miles) rode thru Pt Jervis to Hancock 1st night. It was quite hilly. Continued from Ithaca to Chicago via SW Ontario--not one hill after Ithaca!
BTW the best stretch of riding was just past Ithaca to Geneva, NY!

I use AAA maps--I wanted to go thru college towns (usually decent food, bike shop(s), etc.) and visit the town where my grandfather lived between Rochester & Buffalo, etc. AAA also good for motels, rests, attractions
