I'm biking up to Bear Mountain Saturday to be met by my wife. I'm wondering if the Inn serves food and is at all bike-friendly since there is a chance I will be hungry and cold while I wait for her to show up.
Any beta is greatly appreciated.

The overlook lodge is open ,but I think only serves food on the weekends.
"It is doubtful if it will reopen this year.
The architecture of the bldg is reminiscent of Natl Park lodges in the West but in my opinion it has been a ""culinary Chernobyl""
There may be some temporary buildings open up there, but good food is available across the river in Cold Spring, Peekskill or Garrison and on the West Bank in Haverstraw, Stony Point and just outside of West Point to the north."
Thanks Jay...I know and love all those towns with good eats on the east bank. I guess I'll hang there with the cell phone whilst waitin' for the missus.
I remember getting hot chocolate at that Inn as a little kid after spending a day sledding up there. It was once something more than it is now. Maybe the renovations will bring back something better.

"The Inn is still closed. The ""Carousel House"" should be open and they have food (munchie type) and drinks...coffe and hot chocolate etc. Last fall a couple of us brought our bikes right in and no one botherd us. It's accross the parking lot south of the Inn. Hard to miss."
Now we're talkin...thanks Frank. Coffee and warmth should do just fine.
BTW, I called Bear Mountain and they said that Perkins will not re-open until April 14th (even though there's no more snow on it). I also called Harriman and they said all the winter roads will still be closed this weekend (Tiorati Brook, Arden, Welch Lake...).
