Has anyone done evening laps lately? It seems pretty warm out today, so I'm thinking about it. Sunset is at 7:09pm. Does anyone know offhand what is the earliest time one can hit the park after evening traffic (is it 6:30 or 7, or earlier)?

7 pm

"Traffic from 7 am to 10 am, then 3 pm to 7 pm is the last I've read.

""Under the new traffic plan, only Central Park’s West Drive will be open to motor vehicles only from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., while Central Park’s East Drive north of 72nd Street will be open only from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The East Drive from 57th Street and Sixth Avenue to 72nd Street will continue to be open from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. ""

With all the other roads and CP traverses, why should the loop be open to (non-emergency) vehicular traffic at all? To ease congestion? Haven't studies shown that more roadways just mean more traffic?

I know, I know . . . I'm dreaming.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. still warm, with a forecast of light sprinkles. I'm giving it a shot.

Ethan, as April is coming around, I plan to be in the park every weekday night. If you are in the 19-20mph range, perhaps we can pace each other on the flats. I'm also looking to do hill repeats more often and I'm a lot weaker on those so I will probably do them alone.

Although the re-pavement might throw a wrench into those works :(

I bike after 7pm

Cheers,

Phil
