Looks like it will be partly cloudy, and the hourly forecast as of now shows that roads should be dry for the ride. Hopefully it holds up, because Sunday (the rain date) is much colder.

Pls RSVP by msg board or email if you plan on joining, thanks.

I'm in, but are you guys still planning on going tomorrow, or Sunday? Either is OK, just let me know as soon as possible.

Since the forecast for both days has taken a turn for the worse, we're not sure yet. So we'll hold off until later tonight or early tomorrow in hopes that the weather situation improves. I sure hope it does, because the mercury plunges after this weekend.

If the weather holds, I'm in.

Weather update

The forecast is really bleak. I will post no later than 8 am Saturday with the final decision. If the precipitation % is > 50% we will definitely have to cancel.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Due to the iffy forecast we are going to change our route in order to stay near bail-out points at all times. We will meet at 9 am (not 10!!) at the BH and head through Queens on a low-traffic route to Long Island. You can also meet us at 9:50 at the Statue of Civic Virtue (Kew Gardens stop on E/F train). We'll go to Oyster Bay and head back. Bring train passes and train fare in case we bail.

9am, Boathouse

Assuming it's not wet at the start, it's worth the risk because:
1. though there is a 50% probability of rain, the rain is expected to be very light, so we can get to a bail-out point without getting soaked; and
2. look at the forecast for the next 2 weeks - tomorrow is the warmest day we're going to see for awhile!

If you don't have a train pass, they should let you buy an equivalent on-board.

We'll post by 7am tomorrow (or 7:30am at the latest) to confirm or cancel.
