It's going to be windy so the pace will be somewhat determined by Mother Nature at times. We'll shoot for an easy 18 but might be a bit slower if we have a 25 mph wind in our face. Irrespective of the wind, we will NOT go faster than 18. No formal sit-down lunch but just a 15 minute or so break for a muffin. I'd like to be back before 1pm so we'll leave at 8:30am from the 90th and 5th entrance to the park. Email or post here if you're interested.
A-18ish Piermont/Nyack, Sunday, Oct 28
Sorry, tomorrow (Sunday) is the 29th. Mea culpa
I would love to join if the weather is not to bad.
Bob,
8:30 on Sunday sounds good. See you then.
Harvey
If the winds stay steay, I will meet the group on the NY side of the GWB entrance by 8:50
"Like to join you; never done an ""A"" ride, but if you're willing, so am I. Worst case, I fall back and ride alone (actually enjoy my own company, so it's okay if that happens!)
Morene"
"Harvey, looking forward to seeing you again.
Morene, don't be afraid of the letter ""A"" and just join us.
ALL - Don't forget to turn your clocks back before you go to sleep or you'll be an hour early. (I think..hmm..yeah..early..uh huh)"
I'd like to join the ride. See you there.
count me in. thx.
+1
I've decided to opt for indoor exercise...too windy for my taste. Have a safe ride!
Morene
I hope you don't ache to much in the coming days. I, also took a similar spill; turning right onto Hudson Terrace. The bike went right out from under me. So I commiserate with you. Actually my shoulder is quite the wounded wing.
I'd also like to thank Piera & Morene for safely riding me home on the subway.
peace
Bob,
I hope your feeling better. I also watched Terry go down. I think it was the wind that took both of you down. It looked like the wheel just slipped out in both cases. Again, I hope both of you are feeling better. Let's hope for good weather.
Harvey
just back from the ER, with the news that I fractured a rib. Bob I hope you got off with just roadrash. If you did land on you shoulder, and aren't able to lift you arm ... Thanks Harvey for helping get me out of the road.
Get better soon, Those ribs are like a bad stubbed toe, YOU always remeber the pain.
A good flack jacket works, also deflects the wind.
"Harvey/Terry and the others, thank you so much for the well wishes. Besides the road rash and numerous contusions in various and sundry places all over my body, my shoulder and ribs took the brunt of the spill. Fortunately, nothing broke, not even my spirit for cycling. I'm actually fine if I dont move or breathe. Terry, get well soon buddy...I'm looking forward to riding with you thru the winter. Maybe if you lose some of your fitness, I'll still be able to keep you in sight on the hills. I did my best to protect the bike with my body so I dont even have to go to my ""rain-bike"". Whoopee. Again, thanks so much."
