Tram

I thought the tram just started running again about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Who needs the Tram?

You can bicycle to Roosevelt Island from Manhattan without using the Tram or the Subway. Here's how:

- QB Bridge bike path (enter path on south side of 60th street just east of 1st Avenue)

- Cross the bridge, then make a U-turn as soon as you get off the bike path. Head west toward the river.

- Cross 21st street, enter onto a paved path just to the right of an on-ramp for the bridge, but to the left of the housing project. Take this to its end at Vernon Boulevard

- R onto Vernon

- L at 36th Avenue and across the bridge onto Roosevelt Island.

Now that you know how to bike there, my question is why? Don't expect to find much in the way of good cycling, and certainly no place to do hill repeats.

Have a friend over there and thought it would be fun to cycle over. THanks for the route. I'll give it a try!
