Leaving from Eleanor Roosevelt statue at W.72nd and Riverside Drive (unless people are dying to leave from Central Park). Departure time - TBD. Distance ~50mi. Rain cancels, but forecast looks great at the moment.

Pls let me know if you're interested.

Tuesday Piermont

Hey Guys -

Did you notice that Margaret and Amy posted a Tuesday ride as well? It is on the NYCC home page but not on the listings. If there are two, shouldn't we combine them?
I'm going to try to do whichever one happens.

Jud,
You did the Piermont ride last Tuesday, right? I'm the new guy who joined that ride.

The listing on the home page is for 9/19 (the ride we did last week). Margaret/Amy, if you guys are planning on doing a ride tomorrow, I'm happy to combine the rides!

Ooops!

My bad. I didn't notice that that was last week's listng. I thought it was funny that it wasn't on the regular listings for the week tho. If I get enough work finished tonight, I'll be there. 9:30?

jud...work can wait :)

"Ash – to divide just short of 9W - 0.32 - 205' - 12.1%

i was on margaret's ride too...i'm the guy on the litespeed classic. ash is a short but steep climb that begins close to the deli where we stopped for coffee on margaret's ride. if you guys want to go farther than piermont, we can climb ash (at piermont) and head north a few miles to nyack.

So where are we meeting?

72? And when?

Ah, so half the gang from last week's ride, cool.

Don, Ash sounds fine to me. And you guys both know the route, right (I don't have it memorized)? So I won't bother printing out cue sheets.

So 9:30am at Eleanor Roosevelt statue at 72nd and Riverside works for everyone?

Coincidentally Amy and I are riding tomorrow. We thought about joining you Joe, but we will likely be a little slower than an 18 pace. We will be starting from Engineers gate at 9:30 and will probably go to Piermont. So you are all more than welcome to start with us and there will be no hard feelings when you drop us.

that depends on which margaret shows up :)

"i remember one ride where super-margaret showed up and dropped everyone (pushing the pace to over 20mph). i hurt that day...i felt like little richard...'help me, somebody please help me'...luckily margaret slowed down.

I swear that tomorrow I won't be doing 20mph, even if my brain felt like working that hard, my legs wouldn't cooperate.

Margaret, just saw your post. Why not do this - let's start at Engineer's Gate at 9:30am, and if a few of us want to do Ash and hammer on the return, we can split up at the deli. Sounds like a plan?

Sounds like a good plan, see you 9:30 at Engineers Gate.

So let's all go together?

Assuming that I quit checking and writing messages and get the deck finished that I have to send the clent before I can go, I'll try to get to the 90th St gate, since it's closer to me.

Tues. ride, return time

Since I work the second shift I have my mornings free most of the time. I have tried several times to do a weekday ride BUT the late return ( back to GW by 2;30 -3;00 ) is a bit late for me. If I can find a ride in the b-18ish range that will put me back @ the GW no later than 2;pm ( I need to be in the W/burg area around 3;00pm ) I would participate every week.
Q; what time do you anticipate this ride will end ???

We've been getting back by 1:30 at the latest (nm)

I think when Jud says we've been getting back by 1:30pm, he means back to Central Park, so figure getting back to GWB a little earlier.

never say never :)

"""i've only had two flats in 10 years""...so she said...within 10 minutes, she had a flat...within another hour, i had TWO flats. :-(

ok, i took the subway from the bridge to columbus circle, rode (slowly) to toga and replaced both tires with vredstein fortezza slicks (12bar/175psi...that ought'a help with pinch flats). picked up two new innertubes and four co2 cartridges...i'm good.

thanks for a great ride...looking forward to thursday if you guys go.

Hmmm, what would I prefer - flats or stripped seatpost clamp?

One overpriced Salsa seatpost clamp later, I'm ready to roll. I'll join you guys/gals next time.

Thursday

We are going to go out 501 to the coffee shop/nursery on Thursday. 9:30 at the Engineer's Gate.

Thanks for the heads-up Jud. How long is the ride? B17/18 pace?

I'm trying to decide between joining you guys on Thursday and the Bear Mtn ride on Sat. Don't think my legs can handle both with only 1 day of rest.

easy pace...

...your legs won't be hurting on saturday. :)

jud, is the thursday ride to the farmer's market on 501? is the plan to hit piermont and circle back or is that the turn around point?

Regrettably I won't be able to join you all tomorrow (Thursday)....but instead will do Friday morning's Piermont ride.

I won't be there, but I know that the Thursday ride is just 37 miles rt from the park, with the farm as the turn around point.

I ended up doing 50 miles today, so I'm going to have to skip tomorrow and rest up for Saturday. Have a good ride, and I'll probably see you guys next Tuesday.

Apologies for leaving early

"Don:

Please accept my apologies for ""abandoning"" you and Jud earlier this afternoon. It is my wife's birthday today and I had to get her flowers (hand delivered!) and a cake.

Are we all on for next Tuesday at 9:30 am?
