Meet 8:15AM at the Boathouse. The size of the group determines the destination, where we'll refuel. Out and back via 9W, A20-22 on the flats, regroup on uphills, especially State Line. We'll do our best not to drop anyone. There will be pacelines on 9W.

The goal is steady, not surging or attacking -- I've raced some and I'm winding down my season. It's more fun if we all work together. The goal is also to be back home by kickoff.

Rain cancels -- check message board around 7:15AM. Should be a warm day.

Please RSVP to my e-mail address above, and/or post to the thread. If there are no takers by later tomorrow evening, I'm going to plan on the Gimbels.

I'm up for it, but the weather looks pretty iffy for Sunday. Will check the message board in the morning...

Looks like weather should be cloudy, but no rain until early afternoon. Is this ride still happening?

We're on.

By the time it rains, we'll be watching football. See you at the Boathouse.

You missed a great morning -- how sweet it was to ride in late September with no warmers.

Two others showed up. A coffee jaunt up to Nyack? Nah. They wanted the Gimbels, and I was to be their guide. So up to Yonkers we trundled.

Props to big Mike -- he had been chomping at the bit all the way from Scarsdale, with good reason. He looked like he was regulating in the main pack, and was already fed as I rolled up solo to the Bagel Zone. Fast enough for ya?

Devresh (sp?) held his own too -- not bad for one of your first days on the road after a two-month layoff. We rode back together down Pelham Rd/Shore Parkway, and bailed at the 6 train. I'll master the Greenways yet, I promise.

Me? I overcooked the left corner onto Airport Road, slid sideways on some gravel but kept it upright. I came to a stop in the rocky gutter as the peloton rode away like horses over the hill. Next time, damn Gimbels, next time.
