+1 on mike sherry. quality guy who gives a good fit using a nationally recognized measuring system. he's also good on follow-up as even a year after my fit he was willing to review geometry charts for some bikes i was interested in buying to help me with picking the right size.

fitting

Here is some personal experience with Signature Cycles. My husband and I are both in our fifties, have owned 8 different bikes between us and have logged over 100 thousand miles on road bikes over the last 8 years. We were both fit by Paul Levine. We love our bikes, and competitive cycling, we bike nearly every day with no pain thanks to Paul's fittings. Go to Signature Cycles and start to enjoy cycling.

I agree, I would never try to enjoy cycling without first

- spending $375 to have someone tinker with my bicycle.

What about those eight years?

"I am guessing you at least didn't hate them, or you wouldn't be riding anymore. If a person has the money and has ridden for a while, then a fitting is a good idea. However if someone is a bit price aware (how's that for a euphemism?) the difference between a 600 and a 1000 dollar bike that's ""eyeball fitted"" in ten minutes when you buy it would matter more."
