Choose ya poison.

I did the 75 last year.
The 75-100-125 are quite hilly.
The route is not given out until you receive the cue sheet the morning of.

Rest areas are well maintained. Beautiful area and can be chilly at race start, it is 40 miles or so beyond the city.

If in doubt of your abilities, ask the staff before you committ. Last year the 75-100 overlapped. the 25-50 were also similar route.

Not a crowded ride and pretty well marked, but bring a cue sheet holder.

I hope to do it also, but will decide on Thursday.

It's a great ride

This will be my third--planning to do the 75 at a B 17 pace, leaving Goldens Bridge about 8 and skipping at least one rest stop. Plenty of hills but also plenty of wonderful paceline terrain and virtually no junk miles. A good part of the route is already marked on the roads in upper Westchester and lower Putnam Counties. If any of my old riding buddies are planning to do the ride, I'll be delighted to modify plans to accomodate. I miss the NYCC.

Russ - Tried e-mailing you, but got bounced back.

I will be doing this ride as well (partially based on your past two times as an endorsement). I normally ride a B18+, but usually for 55mi…. May need to slow it down for a 75. Would you have interest in riding together (or at least starting out together)? How are you going?

Jenn,

I'm fairly new to the club but I'm also a B-16. I was going to get a ride with my friend but she has not called me back yet. Are you making the 5:35 or 6:30 train?

I'm riding

I'm planning on riding the 100 - but may back down to the 75. My pace will be A20ish and am hoping to ride the first 50 miles without any stops.
If anyone is interested in joining me let me know. I'm planning on taking the train from grand central that arrives in Goldens Bridge at 7:57

I am also doing the ride. I hope to do the 75 mile at a B16 pace. Hopefully we can meet up and ride at least part of the course together.

I plan on hopping the 5:35AM out of GCT getting to Goldens Bridge at 6:59AM, if I can get up early enough after going to the Yankee game the night before.

I recuperated from the NYC Century and hope to do a B17+ on the 100 mile course. It's my first time in this ride.

I'm riding in GA, too

See yáll there - - I've gotten a (car) ride and will be doing the 100 - - slower than normal on my ol' 1987 heavy steel as my new one is still in transit back from a 2 week cycling trip in the Sierras/Lake Tahoe.

Ol' Trusty is pink, by the way, so wave as you pass me on hills.

Enjoy the ride,
Susan

Thinking about doing this . . . targeting 75mi B18-ish pace

Thinking about doing this . . . targeting 75mi B18-ish pace

Looking into trains. May or may not want to be one of the earliest ones out. 5:35am train sounds rough.

Fellow riders welcome...

I have a car leaving Riverdale 6;45 or so

Gonna take my car and have room for 1 or 2.

Plan on doing 75 maybe 100 at 16/17 based on how the route is this year plus the warmer weather.

OKAY,
If no one drives with me I will plan on seeing some of you off the train. I have to sign up anyhow, that takes 5 minutes.

The flats at 17-18 should be fine, the reality is there are/were plenty of hills and I figure the warm weather after the cool weather will make a difference.

In the past they had donuts and coffee. I love my coffee.

In any case 5-11, Red Lemond, Also beard
WHite with Red helmet
Jersey either, Yellow or With a large funky Crankset on it.

No one wearing their NYCC jersey?! I should be one to talk... I don't own one (yet). I'll be on the 6:30 from GCT with the masses.

I have a blue Pinarello and black helmet. I hope to keep a decent pace in light of just getting home from a Yankee game.

Regardless... everyone have fun!

=)
