I have been cycling for about a year and I would like to meet with a professional trainer to learn the core basics (pedal stroke, cross training, nutrition etc) of training to become a strong rider. I'm not neccassarily looking to do any racing but really want to learn to train smartly. If you can help or know anyone who can help I'd appreciate it.

Thank you
NH

Try Lyon 212-879-6013 he is an independent contractor at Boom Fitness and has lots of experience training anyone from amateurs to World Champions (not kidding!) both in a gym setting and in Central Park. Lyon is very well respected by the cycling community. He was on the National Canadian Cycling team before getting cancer which he beat early this year. Currently sponsoring/ coaching the CRCA/Foundation Team. He also coaches tri-athletes (running & swimming). Plus, he does not charge much. Tell him Serge referred you.

first stop

getting the basics in the NYCC SIG series training in the spring, it'll give you a good base so that you'll be able to get the most out of a one on one trainer by building on a solid base
