does anyone have a bike route from manhattan or queens to long beach? thinking of riding out on sunday.

I don't think u can ride past the theatre until later Fall
bring a heavy duty lock and walk past bike racks near the theatre.
In Wantagh enter the park just east of Wantagh Pky and south off Merrick Rd---there are some openings in the bushes on the west side of the parking lots---these openings will take you to the bike path. You could ride all thru Nassau County east on Merrick Rd--watch the heavy traffic!
This is a nice thing to do on a sunny late Autumn/early Spring day--then u can ride on the boardwalk to your heart's desire! You can get the exact dates riding is permissible by calling the Jones Beach State Park office.

we're staying at the jones beach hotel...
...they let you store bikes in your room. :) riding out sunday...then we'll watch mariah carey sunday night (not my choice - i wanted to see family values...you know, korn, etc.).
