It'll be quiet on the road this last Friday of the Summer. Meet at the boathouse 5:30 AM - we are gone by 5:32 - for a quick blast up Rte 9 to Piermont. 10 minute coffee break then a quick blast back home via rte 9. Should I bring maps? Aiming to be back in the city by 8:30 AM.
Fast A Ride, 5:30 AM Fri., 9/1
Christy,
What route will you take up to the bridge? I'm on the UWS and would rather meet you en-route than go down to the boathouse.
Thanks,
Rob
Out the north end of the Park, right on Morningside Heights, left on 120th Street (I think it's 120th Street), to right on Riversie Drive to the GW Bridge.
Christy,
I'm going to use your Piermont blast as a launch pad for a one-way assault on Perkins Drive. The cavalry will ride under the canopy cover of Little Tor and Tiorati Lake to maximize the element of surprise.
I'm going to need a little more than a cup of coffee, so our supply line is essential -- if it's under 70 degrees, can we get a hogwich? -- to restock in Piermont or Nyack.
Our raid a success, we'll escape over the Bear Mountain Bridge. Return to the city from Peekskill via Metro-North for a minimum noontime arrival. Cooperation among operatives may send us marauding down the east side of the Hudson as far as we dare. All are welcome.
Not sure what you're saying in your message. Do you have a question? Are you announcing another ride that is somehow connected to the one I'm leading Friday? Sorry, I just don't understand. If it's helpful,to reiterate; my ride is going to Piermont, stopping for a quick 10 minute break. Then heading back to the City. We're going up 9W and coming back the same way. My ride is not going to Nyack. My goal is to be back in the City at 8:30 AM. Hope this helps.
Apologies for any confusion -- I was just having fun with ride description. It looks like a really nice day tomorrow after all the gloom this week and I'm looking forward to riding.
Yes, I'm announcing a ride that will begin with Christy's Piermont blast at 5:30a. Instead of turning around at Piermont, I'm going to continue north up to Bear, with a Metro-North return. Keeping an A20-21 pace on the flats, slower on the hills.
Thanks for inspiring me to get up crazy early, Christy.
