...or does anyone else have bad luck with cinelli cork wrap? two times i wrapped my bars tightly and both times the 'tape' failed and the wrap slid around. i'm giving up - bought some salsa cork wrap today. for the record, i've been wrapping bars for close to 30 years...even the old stuff (without the sticky back end) never failed this often.
i also lost a pair of oakley straight jacket frames with clear m frames. was climbing walnut on wednesday with margaret/herb/et.al. if anyone finds them...yeah, what are the chances? :)

Profile Bar Wrap
Softer feel (yup, totally subjective) than Cinelli, less slippery when sweaty wet. Doesn't have that cheezy self-stick, either.
Speaking of cheezy, Douglas faux carbon bar tape looks pretty silly (so I had to try it, of course) and has no cush to speak of but feels great. A layer of gel underneath might be the ticket.

thanks...if the salsa wrap fails...
...i'll try the profile tape. since i don't ride with gloves (or a watch or with high cut socks and i prefer sleeveless jerseys...), i'll pass on the douglas faux carbon bar tape.
if this wrap works, i'll be happier than a pig in s**t...especially since keith says he found my oakleys.
