We'll be renting a car for vacation.
I'm tired of renting minivans in order to get our bikes in but I'm afraid of buying a bike rack that will only fit one car.
So, does anyone know of a rack that
1) A fits most sedans
2) Doesn't take up a lot of room in a NY apartment.

I have something like this in my closet

which folds fairly small and mounts easily enough on rental car trunks without scratching. I'm more than happy to lease it out at a reasonable rate (with appropriate security deposit) to other NYCC members

Saris bumper mount rack fite 3 bikes, folds to next to nothing.
Took it in the bike boxes on a plane trip to CA. Rented a car at the airport and took off with the bikes racked on the car.
I had to take it apart to get it in with the bikes, but it fit.
