I went that way with the NYC Bike map. It was pretty much a no brainer. Ocean Parkway , Turn at Left at Neptune, this becomes Emmons, continue onto Shore PKY, (This is the Greeway), Take Marine Pky Bridge (Gil Hodges Bridge), Go toward water at 168th st. Continue onto Boardwalk(Concrete). Go until end, There is a Ball field turn left, then right at Rockaway Beach. Go straight to B108th make a rt turn then Left at Shorefront, Turn Left at 73rd St and a Right on Larkin.
Go straight as this becomes Edgemere, bare Right onto Seagirt and the Atlantic Bridge is visible. Follow walking path. Go over Bridge, (Water at Toll booths)
then Left on BEECH, Stay straight through Atlantic Beach which becomes Long Beach. There may be a split several miles up, but stay to the left on Beech
