i just moved to manhattan from brooklyn -- near the corner 14th st. and 7th avenue -- and i have a heinous 4-th floor walkup! can anyone recommend a relatively safe place to lock my bike overnight in the immediate area? i locked it on the bike racks in front of the YMCA tonight but suddenly started to worry that it was the wrong choice... help!

Is the bike a real beater, such that you won't care too much if it gets stolen or stripped of parts?
If the answer is no, carry it upstairs. That is if you still have the bike after leaving it outside the other night.
