"Hi,
My father is an avid cyclist and I'm trying to find a unique and/or interesting gift as a ""thank you"" for helping us out with our wedding. Any ideas?"
Gift for Cyclist
hey, if your not an avid cyclist, as your father is, it might be hard to get him something that fits, he will use, etc...based on his size/riding style. you can always go with gift cert from local bike shop, or somewhere online like performance bikes. if that dosent work then a really nice pair of shorts and jersey would make nice gift. or if he has the room get him a new bike, like a fixed gear bike or mtn bike. you can get either for around $700, that will get him a real nice ride, good luck!

No affiliation, I swear . . . other than being the recent recipient of several very thoughtful gifts purchased from aforementioned vendor. Check out the selection of framed New Yorker covers!

THAT is a great website! Thank you!
Nice thought on your part. What price range are you looking at?
This might help with ideas.. 'cause parts, lube set, new wheels, ties, watches, new racing bike can range from $20 to $5,000.
And a gift subscription to a cycling magazine. If you want to spend more, then add a gift certificate for his fave bike shop or an online outfit with a good selection.
This way, you've given him something from which he will reap benefit for a year (NYCC membership and mag subscription) plus something he can use to spoil himself.
What a nice thought....

. . . .I can't find the New Yorker link, what am I missing? I have two cycling related New Yorker covers that I just ripped off and have framed and hang in my apt: The famous illustration of the lone cyclist traversing the Brooklyn Bridge, and another that appeared in the month of July (tdf time) a couple of years ago of what looks like a bicycle messenger going pell mell into the peloton head-on. I wouldn't mind getting some more, thanks.
