Park drives are closed to everyone but Chase Corporate Challenge runners today (21st) and tomorrow (22nd) after 7 pm. There are about 25,000 of them, running in the wrong direction around the Park.
This, too, shall pass...

Not wrong direction
Actually, they are not running in the wrong direction. But they are taking up the whole road, especially on the west side.
Runners are supposed to run clockwise in the inner recreation lane, at least when it is open to traffic. I guess they are supposed to run clockwise even when it is closed to traffic, but it is true that the great majority run counterclockwise which is why you may think that is the right direction.

Seems that way. They were clearing the Park yesterday at about 7 and would not let cyclists in after that. Perhaps after 9 it will be open again, but it's dark by then...

After 9 it's probably still closed
I'm doing the race and from what I've heard the slowest group (walkers) starts around 8, so they will probably be going well after 9.

I called the Central Park Police Precinct. They said the park is closed tonight for the Race, before 9, after 9, period.

Not knowing any better, I passed through last night around 9:30. There was a lot of stuff getting moved around, so it was no night to exceed the 15mph speed limit (not that you would anyway), but nobody stopped me. YMMV.
